In November last year I entered the Ctrl+Alt+Shift and Vice Magazine ran Gender, Poverty & Power photography competition. The competition closed late December, unfortunately I didn't win, however, in addition to the choices of winners made my Nan Goldin, the public was able to vote for their favourite piece and for some reason, and I say this because there was a a LOT of fantastic work submitted to the competition, I wound up being the winner!

To say I am pleased is somewhat of an understatement, I didn't expect to gain any recognition, let alone win anything.

Anyway, my photograph is going to be featured in the exhibition at the Association of Photographers gallery in London, aside from this, I do not know any thing else as I only found out this afternoon, I don't know how long it's going to be running for or if it's free entry. I will be attending the private opening though on the 18th of Feb.

Thanks a lot for the people here that voted for me (I know for sure Lewis did, thanks dude) after I made a post back in December asking for folk to vote for me. Nice way to start off the year.

You can read the full article here. If you can't make it to the exhibit, pick up a copy of next months magazine. Whilst you're at it, sign up to CAS's website and download their mag, it's well good.
